Cilantro & Shrimp Pakoras - Tiger Prawn Fritters
The rains have made the cravings for deep fried food go through the roof. So today with our evening cuppa we had prawn pakora/shrimp fritters. Crispy and hot and flavorful, these disappeared in under 2 minutes! My family was in such a hurry to start munching on these that they gave me just 2 minutes to click a pic! This an easy recipe that you can make in minutes and is a crowd pleaser!
Made these again while when we had some guests over! Once again a rushed pic! (On 6th December 2013)

Ingredients:
- Shrimp/Tiger Prawns - 150gm - 15-16 medium sized prawn - washed, deveined and roughly chopped
- Flour - 1/2 cup
- Baking Soda - 1 tsp
- Green chili - 3-4 chopped
- Onions - 2 medium sliced
- Salt to taste
- Chaat Masala - 1/2 tsp
- Paprika/Kashmiri Mirch Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chopped coriander - 1/2 cup
- Water - enough to make a thick batter.
- Oil - enough to deep fry
Mix all the above ingredients in a bowl. Heat oil in a wok/kadai/pan. Use 2 tablespoons to scoop out small balls of the batter and drop into the hot oil. Do ensure that the batter is thick. Fry till these turn golden brown. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan or else the pakoras will become soggy. Serve hot.
